I personally enjoy taking bikes rides, riding at a quick pace. You may prefer to walk until you work up to another type of exercise that is more challenging. Walking is good if you just want to lose a few pounds without getting too lean. There are all sorts of gym equipment that can be used to get those pounds off fast. There are elliptical machines, tread mills, exercise bikes, etc. to choose from.

If you are weight training and doing cardio for weight loss you are on the right track. Combining these two types of exercise will give you the most results from your efforts. When you keep your muscle mass up and perform cardio routines that challenge your body you will see noticeable results quickly. It will take more time out of your schedule to do both types of exercise, but you get what you give so to speak.

You can also use weights for cardio weight loss. You can pick weights that aren't super heavy to do some circuit training. To circuit train you will need to move quickly between exercises so that you can keep your heart rate up.

Using weight training in such a way will tone your entire body while giving your lungs and heart a workout too. I've used heavy weight training and circuit training to tone myself very quickly. The two types of weight training combined will burn an amazing amount of calories when done properly.

Normally if you are trying to preserve your muscle you wouldn't want to do over 45 minutes of cardio a day. If you aren't going to weight train because of a busy schedule, or you just decide not to, then you may need to do cardio for longer to burn enough calories. When doing cardio for weight loss the important thing is to get your heart rate up enough to give yourself a good workout that lasts long enough to burn a good amount of calories.
